Wedding Videography at Bunny Hill

Some wedding venues are beautiful.

Some have incredible staff.

Some have fantastic food.

And then there is Bunny Hill — a venue that somehow manages to bring all of those things together.

As a wedding videographer, Bunny Hill is one of those places where I arrive knowing I'm going to have an amazing day filming. There are beautiful spaces, incredible light, fantastic people and so many little details to capture that the finished wedding film almost seems to make itself.

It really is a dream to work here.

A luxury Yorkshire wedding venue with everything in one place

Bunny Hill is an elegant rural wedding venue nestled between York and Hull on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds. It has that wonderful feeling of being completely away from everything while still being incredibly accessible for couples and their guests.

What makes Bunny Hill particularly special is that it isn't simply a venue you arrive at for a few hours.

It is an experience.

The entire venue can be yours exclusively, with weddings taking place over several days. That means couples and their guests can arrive, settle in, spend time together, get excited for the wedding and enjoy the whole experience without constantly watching the clock or worrying about moving between different locations.

That is fantastic for wedding films because it gives me so much more to capture.

The anticipation starts before the wedding day itself.

The accommodation is incredible — and perfect for getting ready

One of my favourite things about Bunny Hill is the accommodation.

The beautiful collection of converted former stables and outbuildings surrounds the south-facing courtyard, giving couples and their guests luxurious accommodation right on site. There are multiple double and family suites alongside the impressive wedding suite, with accommodation for up to 24 guests.

But from a videographer's perspective, the wedding suite is particularly brilliant.

It isn't just somewhere to sleep.

It doubles as an amazing space for the morning preparations.

The wedding suite has a large living room, dedicated dressing area, master bedroom, four-poster bed, copper roll-top bath and panoramic countryside views from the first-floor balcony.

That gives me an incredible environment to capture the morning.

The excitement.

The champagne.

The hair and makeup.

The details.

The nerves.

The laughter.

The bridal party together.

Those quiet moments before everything starts.

And because everyone is already at the venue, there is no rushing around between a hotel and the wedding venue. The story of the wedding can begin the moment you wake up.

Huge, bright and beautiful ceremony and reception spaces

Then you have the main event.

The Bunny Hill barn has been designed as a modern take on a traditional barn, combining reclaimed timber and exposed brick with sophisticated finishes, chandeliers and a beautiful mezzanine bar.

The building houses both the Garden Room for civil ceremonies and the main Reception Barn, with the spaces opening onto outdoor areas and rural views. The barn can accommodate up to 200 guests for the wedding breakfast and more than 300 for the evening celebration.

And what I love about filming here is the sense of space.

The rooms are huge, bright and incredibly versatile, which means they look fantastic on camera.

There is room for the ceremony to feel grand.

Room for the reception to feel spectacular.

Room for guests to mingle.

Room for the dance floor to go absolutely crazy later in the evening.

And because there are different areas and levels within the building, I can create lots of variety in the finished film rather than having everything look as though it happened in one room.

The mezzanine bar is another favourite of mine, with views over the grounds and atmospheric lighting that works beautifully as the day moves into the evening.

The Bunny Hill team are something else

A venue can have all the beautiful buildings in the world, but the people are what really make a wedding.

And the team at Bunny Hill are amazing.

There is something I notice whenever I work here — they genuinely seem to love working there.

That matters.

You can feel it in the way they interact with couples and guests. There is a friendliness and enthusiasm that goes beyond simply doing a job.

They care about the weddings.

They care about the couples.

And they care about making sure everything runs properly.

Bunny Hill itself describes friendliness, quality and professionalism as the key to its success, and that is something that comes through strongly in the reviews.

And I've never known them to disappoint.

Their food is consistently one of the things that couples and guests talk about after the wedding, and the range of options means the catering can be a real part of the experience rather than simply something that happens between the ceremony and speeches.

Hog & Apple's approach is particularly exciting because the menus can be designed around the couple, with everything from beautifully presented canapés and starters to sharing dishes, seasonal menus and some seriously impressive evening food.

Their own wedding case studies feature menus including scallop and pork belly, Persian lamb, Ottolenghi-inspired salads and passion-fruit crème brûlée, while Bunny Hill couples have described the food as some of the best wedding food they've ever experienced.

And there are plenty of options beyond the wedding breakfast too, including pre-wedding food and different evening catering possibilities.

As a videographer, I also love what great food does for a wedding.

People relax.

They talk.

They laugh.

They interact.

And all of those moments make the film.

There is a very good reason Bunny Hill has built such a strong reputation.

I can capture the anticipation in the accommodation in the morning, move into the ceremony, follow the couple outside for portraits and drinks, capture guests enjoying the grounds, film the speeches and meal from different perspectives, and then let loose when the dance floor fills up.

Ultimately, Bunny Hill is one of those venues where everything just works.

The accommodation means the wedding can start long before the ceremony.

The staff are brilliant — and you can genuinely tell that they love being part of the weddings they work on.

The food from Hog & Apple is consistently fantastic.

And the awards and reviews reflect what I've experienced myself when working there.

For me, though, the biggest compliment I can give Bunny Hill is much simpler:

I love filming there.
